Blue eyes, dimples, and a hot surfer's body means trouble, right? There's only one way for Katie to find out...
Losing seventy pounds was sure something to celebrate, but at the same time it created problems Katie never expected to deal with. Like, what to do when the hot-bodied surfer, Jack, turned out to be the DJ at her roommate's favorite dance club. Katie was positive he had ‘Trouble’ stamped on his butt. Didn't he?

2.5So this one was just okay. I saw one of my author friends had read it and I was looking for something short, plus it was free so why not? I mean, like I said it was just okay. The first half of the book is where nothing really happens and (idk the MC's name????) talks to a hula doll like it's a real person??????? That really weirded me out and I didn't like that. After that, it did get kind of a little better when the romance started but even then nothing really happened. I shipped it but there wasn't really any development to the characters or their relationship. Granted, it is a 33 page novella but there is a real lack of development here. The MC just lost 70 pounds and goes to the beach every day to exercise. Her future love interest is a classic hot surfer guy who's a DJ on the weekends. His friend is just there until the end of the book when he just becomes there to be a fill-in love interest for the best friend/roommate. So yeah, this was a short novella and because of that it doesn't have much development. But deep down, I kind of wanted more of the MC and Jack's relationship. So I guess it wasn't a total fail.

Aloha Baby edition by Liv Rancourt Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Gorgeous surfer and DJ, also smart and sweet. Katie just needed to feel confident with her new slimmer self to believe Jack was actually interested in her.
I picked this book because of the title. I've been to Hawaii a few times & love the atmosphere. I figured it would take me back to familiar places. And...it did but only for a short while. Just as the book was "cresting", it was over, like a surfing wave. I dislike books like this, One's that leave you wondering what happened to the rest of the story. That's why it only got 4 stars.
4 stars
I really really love this author. She brings some of creativity to her writing that with Jack she brought so much to the table when it came to this couple it's hard to explain but the girl gets that guy What else is there really to say about this book.
Happy sexy Reading
Cute story, so far. But I had to stop at 50% to write a review.
They are at the club, and the author mentions Janet Jackson's song 'Rythmn Nation' is played followed by "a ballad by NSYNC", in a book that is set in 1993. I'm sorry, but NSYNC was not formed until 1995 and not popular in the US until 1998. It's these little details that ruin books for me. It takes less than 5 minutes of research to find popular music singles for 1993.
Cute story of two college-age adults, Katie and Jack, who like to give google-eyes at the beach to one another. They don't run in the same circles, but they randomly meet up at a club one night. And what a pleasant surprise, Jack is the DJ. Katie is there with her BFF and a blind date that doesn't have a clue. The story definitely ended too quickly. I would love to see a continuation of their story.
Short story that has five well developed characters that I'd really like to see again. The story is set in lovely, warm Hawaii. Our heroine, Katie has recently lost seventy pounds and is adjusting to her new body, the Weight Watcher's diet, and the new attention she's getting. When dimpled surfer guy Jack gives her the eye more than once we know what's bound to happen if Katie lets her guard down.
Just like a vacation on the beach in Hawaii, this short gave me a quick little escape from my own (rainy) life, and fun memories to take away. Add in a glimpse into the past (loved the music references), the loveable best friend and Katie's absolutely relatable weight issues and you have the perfect short story. I've been to Honolulu twice. It was amazing. But to be lucky enough to live there? *Happy sigh.*
Rancourt has done it again. She's written a winner that you just have to experience.
