This book was not what I had expected. I have always heard people called "Little Lord Fauntleroy" like "being born with a silver spoon in your mouth." But the Little Lord in question is not rich or arrogant at all. The story is about a boy who was raised without money by his mother, only to learn that his father was the third son of an English lord. When the deceased father's two brothers die, the boy is left to inherit the wealth and title of his grandfather.The Grandfather is a mean and selfish man, but the boy is so sweet that he always sees the best in everyone. He believes his grandfather is wise and generous, and his faith makes the fact. The grandfather so loves the boy that he wants to be, and eventually becomes, a better man. Its a great lesson and it's beautifully written.
Oddly, my copy of the book came with a disclaimer by the publisher that said 'racial attitudes have changed since the book was written, so take it in context.' There was no discussion of race in the book at all. I don't know if the publisher has read the book, but the disclaimer is completely erroneous; please disregard.

This is one of my all time favorite stories! If you want to feel good then sit right down and read this book! You will love it too!
Good old fashion story without sex or violence. A heartwarming story full of kindness and generosity. A subtle way of telling the reader how to live together with everyone else.
when I first read this book I instantly knew I had to get it for myself. the story is great the only thing you have to look closely at is make sure its the original author, not someone who hacked it up and made it weird.
It is great that there are people/companies that make books easily available for all to have in their book collection. Great service and great product makes it an easy choice to purchase again from them.
The print in this version is super tiny and made it hard for my son to read. We like the story and it was on his reading list, but will look for another version next time!
What a great story! My 10 year old son and I read this out loud together and we both enjoyed the story ( my other three children would listen sometimes too). I would say the book was a little slow to get started, but the character development in the story was amazing and sweet. I highly recommend this book for all ages.
